Born in Urbana, Ill., Nov. 19, 1869. Worked for a newspaper there before attending the U. of M. law school. Came to Detroit in 1891. After graduation became an instructor at Sprague Correspondence School of Law in Detroit, became president of it in 1908. Vice-pres. of the Collector Publishing Co., which became Sprague Publishing Co., when he and William C. Sprague established The American Boy Magazine of which he was editor-in-chief.
